A comic which imagines what a publication might have looked like, had a far-sighted publisher in 1877 thought to combine the hugly popular scientific romances of Jules Verne, with the talents of the greatest artists of his day to produce something new and exciting.
With stories by Kek-W and John Smith, each famous for their contributions to 2000 AD, and Julia Round, the comics academic who, quite literally, wrote the book on Misty you know that we have an outstanding writing team behind us.
Paddy Brown delivers his best work yet, writing and drawing 'Penny Blood', and we introduce Pete Howard with his wonderfully funny 'Penguin's Tale' (Pete knows how to please his editor) illustrated by Adam Brown who you'll be seeing a lot of in the near future.
We're thrilled to be working with Mal Earl, a creator willing to experiment with different styles of storytelling as he continues his Radclyffe epic, and Diego Guerra, who supplied our stunning cover and a brilliant ten page story inside, that really tries to get into the mind of the people of the 1870's and looks incredible.
We're also unreasonably proud of our whole art team this time round. Alongside Paddy, Mal, Adam and Diego we have Italian artist Mauro Longhini, who brings a new dimension to B&W. Scott Twells is at his inventive and psychedelic best and Pau Scorpi's layouts, designs and colour palatte have brought an unexpected and atmospheric grace to a very strange John Smith epic.
Finally, and a big personal thrill for me, Mark Bennington who worked for practically every humour comic at some stage in the eighties and nineties has written and drawn a superb single page strip for us. With spot illustrations from Hunt Emerson and an inside back cover from David Hitchcock it is, without any doubt, our best package yet.
